Empty partition

I have an empty partition on my hard drive. I want to delete it and merge that free space with my el capitan partition but it won't let me erase it nor will it let me expand my el capitan partition.

What is the file system of that empty partition?

And, El Capitan disk utility seems remain unfinished.

Okay... so the partition TEST is the blank one and that is on top when viewed in Disk Utility yes?

Here are the steps you need to follow.

1. Command-r boot to recovery.
2. Use Disk Util to format TEST to Mac OS Extended (Journaled)
3. Use Disk Util to resize the OS X partition to 114GB
4. Go to the restore tab of Disk Util and drag the OS X volume to source and TEST (or whatever you renamed it) to destination then click restore. That will clone the OS X volume up to the top partition.
5. Now reboot and hold the option key. Select the TEST volume to boot from and verify all is well there. While there go to System Prefs and in the Startup Disk pane set the TEST volume as the boot disk.
6. Command-r boot back to recovery.
7. Use Disk Util to remove (click the minus) the old OS X partition.
8. Now you should be able to resize the TEST volume to fill the drive.

Again, I am assuming here the current TEST volume is blank and that is the one you want removed.

Yup, test the is the I want to remove. Will give this a try after work
