Hello, i was just wondering if there is a way to emulate oldworld macs. i want to do this because A:i am to lazy to get out one of my real macs, that are oldworld, and set them up, and B: becuase i managed to find myself a copy of Copland, (i didn't try it yet) and i don't know if i will be able to install it under a partition in classic mode on my powerbook..., oh and if not would it work on a wallstreet powerbook, that won't be too hard to get out of storage.. also those interested i also at the same time managed to get a copy of Rhapsody RD2 (which i will run under VPC, since it was still intel based back then)

Don;t ask why, i am just a true mac nerd, and want to see what they were like, expecially copland, which i am sure there will be other macusers who will want me to report on the ill-fated 1.5 billion dollar next gen os, that never made it passed beta stage..

thanks

wow, i just read the instructions on how to install copland, don't think i'll be doing that anytime soon, you need to macs just to run it, one with the debugger, one with the os. etc. as for rhapsody i need to find a way to decompress the .rar , any ideas?

those interested copland is version dr2 build D11E4

The oldest version of the MacOS that works as Classic with a non-beta release of MacOS X is MacOS 9.0.4. There are emulators for 680x0-based Macs, but there are none for PPC-based Macs. Copland required two PPC-based Macs. Long story short, there exist no emulators that support Copland.
