Okay, So I recently found some of my old PS1 games, which happen to be NTSC-J, so my PS3 can't play them. I decided to download the pSX emulator for Windows (since I hadn't read about much stability from the Mac versions).

I've installed the PS3 controller driver, and Mac and Windows both detect it, as does the emulator in settings...but....when attempting to play the game it does no good, keyboard nor the ps3 controller have any effect on controls, therefore rendering the game and emulator useless....

Does anyone have any ideas to get this to work?

OS: XP Media Center SP3 via Fusion 3
pSX 1.13: Controller: PS3 Controller, Type: Dualshock

I wouldn't use Fusion 3. If you want to run a PSX emulator that is PC only, do it through WINE. I use ePSXe, but some people use PCSX-R. Here is a good guide for setting up the Windows version of PCSX-R: http://speedofmac.com/pcsx.html

Once you have either of the two installed, you can download USB Overdrive to get your controller working with it.

Or, if you don't care about enhanced graphics settings, etc., you can download the Mac version of PCSX-R, which has native controller support (it's also in the above link.)

An emulator through an emulator? jeez.. now I've heard it all. :rolleyes:

OP, I'd simply use bootcamp if I was you.

Also, WINE stands for Wine Is Not an Emulator (according to some), but same thing.

VMWare = Virtualization not emulation.

I do realise what the OP means, and I think using a VM would be fine, however savvos above my original post was suggesting to use Wine to run the PSX emulator. I was replying to that post.

Well, Wine doesn't emulate the x86 processor, only some of the functions of Windows. Since it strips out the bloat of a regular Windows install, I find that my PSX emulator runs faster under Wine in some instances than it does in Windows, particularly when I'm using OpenGL graphics plug-ins.
