I'm planning on picking up one of the upcoming quad-core iMacs, either the i5 or i7, I haven't decided yet.

I'm very interested in running emulators for the following platforms and was wondering if they were available.

SNES
GBA
NDS
PSX
PS2

Thanks

Thanks alot, just what I was looking for.

The frame rate seems to suffer a bit on the PS2 emulator... do you think the 27" with 512mb GPU & 4GB or RAM + Quadcore will help this?

It depends on what you've got now and what games you're running. Also keep in mind that it's a relatively new port being maintained by one guy trying to keep up with the Linux version. It has come a long way though.

if anyones curious about N64, sixtyforce is a good N64 emulator (but it costs $16 to be able to save)

they released a beta version of a cocoa rewrite of the program (the old version's roots date back to 1998) in 2007

Could anyone post a description of how they got the PS2 one working in Snow Leopard? I would very much appreciate it.

Also: does the PSX emulator work only with discs or can you use ROM files? If so, how?

Crossover games is like a windows emulator without windows it runs some apps and games, but check compatibility list to see what runs on it, i know that's not what you r looking for but i just said so u have another option, and Project64 is a N64 emulator for windows that works on crossover games with no bugs that i can find.

common mistake: crossover is not an emulator. it runs off WINE (google it and you will see what i mean eh? ;)).

Alright, so I've been trying to get PCSX to work. I've downloaded it, gotten the bios, put it in the appropriate folder, etc... I tried downloading the ROM of Chrono Trigger, got that too. I now have "Chrono Trigger.bin" and "Chrono Trigger.cue". I try to use "Run CD" with each of them; neither works. Either it crashes or I get a black screen. Anyone know what I'm doing wrong?

You could try the DS-re-release of it, it has a better translation.

Is there anyway to use the playstation emulator with iso files instead of the discs?
