Enabling Classic

Hello everyone. I'm stuck trying to install an application that needs classic.
Powerbook G4 15"
Mac OS X Tiger 10.4.3

I go into System Preferences > Classic

The specific message I get is:

You do not have a version of Mac OS 9 installed that supports Classic. Install Mac OS 9.1 or later (Classic Support).
For more information about installing this support, click the Help button.

While reading that a little more in-depth, I need to install Mac OS 9, any ideas where I would get a copy of this and/or what type of compatibilty and effects it would have on the system?

If you bought the PowerBook new, OS9 install discs should have come with the computer. Otherwise, I don't know if OS9 can be purchased new from Apple. (Anyone?) For used, try eBay.

As for compatibility, with the installation of Classic, you'd be able to run virtually any application ever produced for the Mac -- which I think is very cool. It's all addition, no subtraction!

Yes, you should be able to install this from system restore DVDs or CDs (but NOT from a Tiger install DVD that did not come with a computer).

This is the message that you get if you have not installed Classic support; you still have a Classic icon in the System Preferences, however. I just installed Classic on my iMac with 10.4.3, and it was on the install disk #2. Install disk #1 includes Tiger and apps, and disk #2 includes Classic and the installer for Classic.
