I’m aware that if I enable iCloud photos backup I get prompted with the attached message that my photos synced via iTunes Finder on my device will be removed. But on another screen under storage it has an option to backup photos to iCloud. Will enabling this switch perform the same task and will I get the same warning prompt ?

Sorry I don’t understand the question. All my photos were originally transferred via iTunes from my PC to the iPhone.
On your phone, open Photos app and check if you see any albums under "From my Mac" section. Should be after People&places albums if not mistaking. If you see any albums there, they will be removed when enabling iCloud sync and better save these photos manually first.

Yes thanks. From My Mac is present and shows all my photos that were transferred using iTunes.
So there is no other way revert to iCloud after photos were transferred via iTunes? I don’t think so. Just checking.
