Hi Guys and Girls

I put a new 120GB HD in my Macbook so now I have the 60GB HD that came in the Macbook free!!

Can anyone give me advice or reccomend an enclosure to put the 60GB HD in?

I bought this one from DABS but it didnt fit. The connections on the enclosure and the 60GB HD were not the same!!!

Any help would be great!!

I did some looking around, decided on this one:

http://www.amazon.com/Macally-Firew...043358/ref=sr_1_2/002-3662868-5504802?ie=UTF8

I'm getting it today, so I can only say that it got good reviews, has firewire AND USB so you can target disk mode from it.

And by the way, I did the same thing, swapped out the original 60 for a 120 -- then my superdrive busted, and I had to put the original back in so I wouldn't loose it to applecare.

Otherwise, I would have sold the 60g.

if you're planning on using this with a MB HD, then it won't work. It's not for SATA drives.

Shoaib just spotted that and pointed it out to me.. thanks for the advice :)

Any idea what type of HD is in an iMac G5? And 3.5", I'm guessing? Although could quite easily be 2.5"..

wish I knew that a week ago.

hope these guys don't charge a restocking fee.

guess I'm in the market for an enclosure, too.

any suggestions?

You can get some from OWC (macsales.com), but the notebook SATA enclosures are still pretty pricey. For instance, this one.

There are cheaper ones if you can forego Firewire. Do a search for "sata 2.5 enclosure" or similar. But dropping to USB for a sata drive would be curious.
