hey

I'm planning on buying an ATV, and i'd like to convert my South Park dvd's to fit both my iPhone and ATV. With movies i prefer a quality that isn't compatible with iPhone, but since SP is animation i figure it's possible to encode in a way that suits both. Any suggestions on what to use?? Ipod high-rez, or something else? I'm not that good with HB :) so if you could specify bitrate and whether or not to use anamorphic, strict or loose, that would be good.

Thanks

That's a subjective question. I'll just say that I used a custom preset based off of the iPod-Hires preset that set the bitrate to something like 1150 and found it hard to tell the difference. The content makes it easier for the encoder to compress the data without impacting quality.

Forgot to mention, I've viewed the encodes on both my iPhone and Samsung 46" DLP.

I think you'd be happier to rip one version for the small screen, and another for the large. I use Visual Hub, and select the presets, so can't be helpful with settings for HB, tho.

I think i'll stay with one version. don't really want double episodes of 11 seasons of south park :)

thanks for the answers
