I'm trying to convert both seasons of Chappelle's Show for use on my ATV. The problem is, the vob files don't correspond to individual episodes. That is, the episodes run across vob file breaks.

Does anyone know a way I can encode each episode individually? Or am I going to have to just convert each disc-worth of episodes as a single mp4?

Sorry, I should have clarified my post. I am using Handbrake, and am very familiar with it. The problem is that I can't seem to figure out how to encode individual episodes. Selecting "titles" in Handbrake allows you to choose respective vob files in the VIDEO_TS folder. But in this case these vob files do not represent individual episodes.

Actually, titles do not correspond to the vob files. if you open up DVD player, you can click on where the time is in the control panel to get a title number view. Then you can go to the individual episodes and see what title each is.

Titles in Handbrake do not equal individual VOB files. Titles can span multiple VOBs. Typically, each episode is a title in the dropdown menu in Handbrake. If you are not seeing a title for each episode, then they either did something funky when they made the disc, or there is some sort of protection preventing HB from seeing them all. Try running the disc through a 3rd party ripping utility and then feed it into Handbrake.

Also, you should just select the main folder of the DVD when selecting the source, not the individual VOB files.

I think they did something funky when the made the disc. I already ripped the disc to the hard drive, as I always do when I encode. When I try to encode individual episodes, they all result in files with part of either the previous episode before it, or the next one after it, etc. For some reason, the titles that Handbrake is reading don't correspond to the episodes. Oh well.

You might do a search on the Handbrake forums, someone may have found a work around with this disc. I recall seeing it mentioned before, but I'm not 100% sure. A quick search would probably turn up some results.

Yeah I had this problem too. I don't remember if it was Season 1 or 2 but when I used the title selections in Handbrake I would end up with pieces of episodes. It's going to be annoying to have to piece it all together. I'll post again if I figure out a way around it.
