iPad Pro Encrypted APFS external drive on iPadOS 14 - IPP 11"

Was pleased that iPadOS 14 introduced the ability to access Encrypted APFS external drives, however while I can now see the drive, it will not unlock and cycles back to the unlock dialogue. Anyone else experiencing this?

I have tried the usual remedies - change cable; hard reset IPP; use a simpler P/W string; check it is working on my iMac.

The external drive has two containers/partitions: 1 x Time Machine and 1 x E-APFS - 1TB SSD LaCie. The Time Machine part is accessible to view folders etc.

I have posted a bug report with Apple, but interested on any forum members experiences. Thanks!

Why was that not an advertised feature? I’m surprised that Apple stayed quiet on that. ?

Must not have considered it a mainstream issue. It is in the release notes under Files.
