Encryption

I am looking to password protect my usb drive.

I know that if I format a usb drive with OS X extended (journaled, encrypted) I can password protect the drive. If I plug it into any mac it was prompt me for a password. And it won't be readable on a PC.

If I format the drive as exFat or fat I am able to right click on the drive and choose "encrypt". Does anyone know what will happen to the drive when it is put in a PC? Will it prompt the person for a password on windows?

I just tested this with a USB key in ExFAT and you get a password prompt, then it errors out saying the partition scheme (master boot record) is wrong and it needs to be the Mac GUID partition scheme to work. So it appears the be trying to just encrypt in Mac OS Extended (Encrypted) and can't since the partition scheme is wrong.
