Energy saver settings won't stay locked in MacBook Pro

hi,

i've got a 2.33ghz MacBook Pro for the last 8 months now... however since the last couple of Mac OS updates, i haven't been able to keep the energy saver settings locked... everytime the comp is restarted or is turned on, the settings would revert back to unlocked... i'm not quite sure why this is happening as my last few macs never had this problem on me... anyone can rectify this?

i'm running the machine on 10.4.10 btw.
