English keyboard MacBook Pro models in stores?

I’m a native English speaker living in a non-English country. The local Apple Store often has the new 14- and 16-inch MacBook Pros available, but never with English keyboard layout.

Has anyone ever found one? I know they keep International English versions of other, older MacBook models in stock.

I too face the same issue as you described. Only a special order Mac is the answer. Or As I am considering to explore to change the Key caps from another language to English.. I have to open a post for this help.

You can often get international shipping from US or other English-speaking countries, but I don't know how well that works for cost.

You should be able to choose from any keyboard layout when you order on apples website.

Yes - where ever I am - I always buy the US Keyboard layout, which I never have any problems getting from the local Apple on-line store.

I should have added in this reply that local apple delivery time period for a specially configured unit is 3-4 months on average for delivery. This is not guaranteed either by Apple. Its many factors, one is certainly getting a Non standard keyboard in a foreign country...

Regarding shipments from UK < USA etc there such a hefty import duty cost that it adds another £600-800 to the cost depending on the final configuration of the unit. This make the unit over the cost of a local supplied model. So the quandary is wait for months or pay through the nose for a import..

The 3rd way for me I find is to get the closest matching layout keyboard and change the caps, this is possible on the new 'magic' keyboards.
The language layout is software driven and not hardwired into the keyboard.

Thanks for the answers, but the question was specifically about in-stock models in Apple store locations. I know I can order any BTO combination online.
