So what have you had engraved on your iPod?

I'm in the proses of getting a iTouch to replace my iPod, but i suppose engravings are just engravings, and I wanted some inspiration for mine (and pure interest).

So, just post an image or just type what you have engraved on your iPod and its simple as that!

Witty, sentimental... or just boring, its all important!

Share and enjoy!

Wirelessly posted (iPhone: Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 3_0 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/528.18 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/4.0 Mobile/7A341 Safari/528.16)

I don't care for them either. Have yet to see one that isn't cliché, tacky or embarrassing.

I've never seen an interesting one. It's always just, "Happy Chirstmas X, love Y" or people in high school used to have "xXxforname surnamexXx"

Not exactly inspired.

On my 2nd gen Shuffle, which is my go anywhere, do anything iPod, I chose
"In every clime and place..."

Goes along well with my job, too.

I just put my name and phone number. If it gets lost, and whoever finds it is a nice person, I want to make it as easy as possibly for them to find me and return it.

Some strange responses to this thread; I'd have thought people would know what to expect when they opened it.

If you're looking for ideas, a good way to get some suggestions is to keep an eye on the Apple website around holiday time, Mother's Day, Father's Day et al. There's usually some good ones there. Last Father's Day they had a great one; wish I could remember it!

Powered by sweat and children's souls.....

But really. Just my first and last name and my nickname. The back is so scratched though, that it is really hard to read the engraving..... (so doesn't really hurt the resale value IMO)

Engraving something on your own device that suitably reflects your lifestyle is self-masturbatory nonsense. Just becaused engraving is free, doesn't mean you *need* to take advantage

I can understand the need to engrave something thoughtful if its a gift... or engraving identifying details in case of loss or theft

I've wanted to get my iPod Touch a full back case engraving but can't for the life of me come up with a design. Those two lines with limited characters are kinda lame. My first iPod said "I'll see you on the dark side of the moon."

I was going to have "Climb on" on the back of my next iPod.
Years back I saw Dave Spikey and after the show I asked if he could sign my Phoenix Nights DVD. Signed it with one of the shows early catchphrases "Live the dream, climb on". So it's got good memories attached to it. Also: I like climbing. :D

I have "reward if returned" and my email address engraved on the back of my iPod Touch. I've done that on each of the last 3 iPods I've had. It has not affected resale value in any significant way. Any engraving shop could cover the engraving for 10 bucks or so.

On my Classic.

Yes, that did kinda annoy me :p
almost to the point of shouting "Look at the title!!"
But thanks! Never knew they had them, gonna do a bit of googling around :D

On my Classic.

WOW! I might even go for that! :D

On my old mini I got "1,000 stolen songs, in my pocket"

Ahahha xD
Awesome!

best one so far

some goodens here http://www.methodshop.com/gadgets/humor/rejectedengraving/index.shtml

and if you share my humour

Ahahah there so cool!
interesting that the "Dear [insert name], Thanks for the iPod idea. Steve Jobs" wasn't rejected!

Might get: "from your good friend, Steve Jobs" xD

:apple:

Musical taste being a very personal thing, I thought this was rather fitting for the contents of my 40GB 4th-gen iPod (+5 points to whoever gets the original reference):

**cough** HIPSTER! **cough**

Nothing on my current one, but when I get a new iPod Touch this fall I'm seriously thinking of engraving it with "Mark's bad touch" and my phone number ;)
