Entering new event/to do on MM web?

I am new to MM (a PC person!) set myself up with MM this weekend, got it working intermittently and tried to enter a new event or to do from the web. absolutely nothing happens. The other options under the little star (action) button work: delete, show/hide to do, go to date, go to today). to me the ability of entering new info on the web and have it come to iphone is among the most alluring. am I expecting too much or is this just another place where Apple has screwed up?

Have you tried dragging to make a new event? Works for me.

Yes I tried dragging, both right and left click dragging. It is not dragging...
