Enterprise Printer Management, and Mac OS X

Ok a question to everyone out there.

Because Novell Netware 4.0 is old, we are moving our Print Server to Windows Server 2008 R2 in an AD Integrated Domain at the Business School I work for.

I am trying to figure out a way to manage over 50 different print queues without re-inventing the wheel. I have been scripting it, thinking there was only 20 printers, but now that number has doubled..

So the question I have is what tool(s) do other SysAdmins use to map Mac OS X Print Queues to a Printer Hosted on a Win2k8 Box?

Any ideas, tools, or scripts would be greatly appreciated.

First of all, do you know how to connect a Mac to a Windows print share? It's a hidden feature but really simple once you know about it.

No.... I was under the impression we couldn't do this any more since Mac OS X doesn't use Samba.

Not quite. There is a Windows tab where you can browse the network. However, in some cases the network setup doesn't allow for this or you want a finer control. This is where you get to the more "hidden" features. You need to add the Advanced toolbar button to the toolbar. You can also edit the /etc/cups/printers.conf file manually or do this via the cups webinterface. If you are used to unix then these last 2 are not hidden features, they are very normal. When using a script this would be the way to go imo.
