I got a bit carried away tidying files and accidently moved the "Microsoft User Data" file out of my ..username/documents/ folder with the unsurprising result that Entourage now opens as it would on a clean installation. ie I've lost all my saved e-mails and worse, my entire address book - oops. I tried moving the file back but it seems to be in conflict with the new file (same name) that Entourage creates as it starts up.

Does anyone know if this is fixable or if I can retrieve my address information from somewhere?

Thanks! (I know, I shouldn't have been fiddling in the first place!)

Easy to fix...

Assuming you haven't messed with anything inside that Microsoft User Data folder that you moved from your Documents folder, you should be able to just quit Entourage, trash the entire new Microsoft User Data folder that it created when it didn't find yours, and put yours back in its place, in ~/Documents. When you launch Entourage after that, your stuff will be back, and everything will be peachy.

If you set up your e-mail accounts with the new MUD folder and received any mail (and you don't leave copies on the server for x days), just forward it to yourself before you do the operation above.

Thanks guys. Got it sorted by deleting and replacing the file as suggested. I had tried before but hadn't noticed a space had accidently been added at the end of the file name. Deleted it and all is as it was. Thanks again for replying.
