I am heading to NYC for vacation and entered a bunch of places I would like to visit in my address book. Is there an application that will use the location services of my 3G iPhone and tell me which of the entries in my address book are close to my current location?

Thanks.

Evidently not

OK, I am guessing that since nobody has responded this app doesn't exist.

I think it is a great idea, create a group of contacts for a place you intend to visit (in my case, Manhattan) and the app will use your current location to tell you which contact items are close by.

Hopefully somebody smart will write it someday....

I was hoping with my quick test of the official Yellow page app would have this. You can start by searching events and businesses near your selected or current location, then add them to a plan.

But the created plans of various events and businesses won't sort based off distance, only by time and date of events. Or even the favorite section. Sadly, this created list doesn't have active links. So shown addresses and phone numbers can't be clicked on anymore. But you can e-mail the entire plan out.

I got to imagine it would at least work well if you plan to be somewhere for a week, you can add several events around the area to a plan, and know which one is coming up next and how to get there.
