Hello World,

Recently my desktop has died (Good old AMD Athlon 64 Venice Core w/ DFI NF4 SLI-D board died) and I was thinking of picking up a Mac Mini to do basically what a Apple TV could do but with much better hardware.

Looking for a speedy file/media server which can attatch to a TV (probably running http://www.plexapp.com/) and stream HD content.

The only thing it's missing is a speedy hard drive.

Seeing that they actually sell a Server Edition of the Mini, I wanted to see if I could basically build one like it out of the entry level Mini (disregarding software requirements).

I'm basically wondering if the Super Drive is interfacing with the mini via a SATA connection, and if I could replace it with a hard drive and then stick it in RAID 0.

I tried viewing IFixIt's teardown, but it looks like the connector MAY be different. If anyone has some information about it, that would be great.

Please and thank you!
