And as I pointed out in the iPad section of MR, the demo runs better on the iPhone than it does on the iPad. Which is pretty sad, if you ask me. :(

I just downloaded it for my iPhone 4 and iPad.

The iPad one has console rivalling graphics, quite amazing. But on the retina display. WOW, just WOW!!!

FYI, the controls are good too, once you get used to them. iPad version is easier to control with bigger sticks.

I cant wait to see what the finished game is like. And i cant wait to show this demo off to the Android users in work ;)

I'd imagine the iPad version is running into the 256MB wall. The iPhone 4 has 512MB to work with.

And I agree, this demo on the retina display is unbelievable. I especially like the tents from a distance. They almost look real.

I'm not seeing that. In fact on both versions i managed to get the frame rate to drop to what felt like about the same. Go to the bridge outside the citadel and pan quickly over the citadel.

The iPhone 4 version is more jaw dropping though, because there are no jaggies and texture details look so smooth on the retina display.

All i can say is WOW!! Thats crazy cool! I suggest everyone with ip4 to try this out! NOW! Cant wait for the game come out.i hope they get the gameplay work.

Graphic is amazing. Looks even better than Elder Scrolls on Xbox 360. BTW you can walk around by just taping the destination on the screen. I find the joystiq quite loose.

now we just need the source engine on ios and it will be the ultimate mobile gaming device...

Oh puh-lease. No way will that ever be true. How are you going to fire your gun while running and strafing on an iPad/iPhone? You're not.

While I appreciate Epic Citadel is indeed... epic, FPSs simply don't work on the iPad/iPhone.

This will rock with gyro controls, any idean when the game is coming out?(and whats it called) cant wait i love rpgs.

If i got i right its not going to be FPS its going to be RPG so bit different genre.and i think rpg will work on this + gyro controls / fps works great if you ask me..

I simply cannot get this on my iPad. I first tried entering the AppStore on the device itself. It downloads, then fails to install. Tells me to log onto iTunes on my computer and check for available downloads. I do that, iTunes downloads the app and I sync my iPad. After having synced about a zillion unsynced purchases, it just ends. It never syncs the actual Epic Citadel demo to the iPad.

I've tried redownloading it, both on the iPad and in iTunes. Tried resyncing a couple of times, rebooted the iPad and tried again etc. Nothing works. Anyone have any tips on getting this installed on the iPad? It's the only app I've ever had this problem with, all my other over 100 apps works fine.

just watched keynote about this and they told its going to be released on next holiday season :)

haha Just show everyone at work. The Android users were speechless. None of them are apple fans so it was nice they couldn't come back with anything for once. lol

Edit - Now think of this... With the 4.2 update, could we use airplay and send this to the big screen? Think of how awesome that would be?! No need for 360/PS3 anymore.
