After upgrade to High Sierra impossible to print on the mentioned printer.
Uninstalled the printer and made a new installation, no change - no print.

No promises on the following advice, but...

Sometimes what works is to -delete- the printer (that doesn't work), and then try to "add it as a new printer".

If that doesn't work, could there be "alternative print drivers" somewhere that work (I'm thinking of something called "GIMP")?

Have you checked Epson's support downloads?

Supplemental High Sierra update installed, Epson 3.3 software installed still NOT printing but scanning is OK.
It is definitevely an Apple driver problem as I can print from a WIN10 laptop. Thank you for the link, but also
on Apple discusion board is no solution in sight. How to report to Apple?

I believe those are status indicators. Somebody else already reported the bug, so yours is a duplicate (and it may get closed because of that). Maybe they send you email, maybe they don't. Maybe they fix the bug soon, maybe they don't. You've done your part.
