Eraser for Apple Pencil

Hello, I am going to buy an Apple Pencil mainly for pdf annotation. I will install Tech Armor glass screen protector. Are those erasers for Apple Pencil useful?

Heard anything about possible release of the Apple Pencil 2 with an eraser this year?

I'm not sure what erasers you're talking about. Most apps just allow you to switch between ink and start mode.

"Erasing" is a software function, not a hardware device.
Very simply, erasing is the opposite of drawing. It would have little effect on the screen, other than you would pass over the same area a second time.

That’s just a piece of rubber that triggers the touchscreen like your finger. It doesn’t “erase” anything. Considering that it’s the same type of material used by most styli, I don’t think it will damage your screen.
