I have a 16GB white Iphone 3GS and I dropped it and broke the screen. I am selling it on ebay.

What is the best way to clear off the data that is on it? I've done the restore thru Itunes and then did the erase data on the phone after the restore. Is there more that needs to be done? When the new person gets my phone will it still be connected to my phone number? my name still attached to the serial number? Thanks for the help.

General > reset > erase all content and settings.

it WILL take 2 hours to do.

All you have to do now is take out your sim card. As long as you have restored and erased your stuff on your phone, it has none of your stuff on it.

The phone number will stay with wherever your sim card goes. ;)

Erasing the iPhone

Ok, I did the sweep in the phone menu and another site i saw said it would take 2 hours but it didn't take anytime at all to do it, is this normal?

i ended up buying a new iphone and took my old sim card out and put it in the new iphone...and the new sim card is in my old iphone. should i take and keep the new sim card too?

Yes. Keep the new sim card as well. The new owner will have to get their own sim card.
