Whenever I try restoring iTunes gives me a 1604 error on the iPhone 3G. Does ANYONE know what to do?? PLEASE!!

Arrghh Error 1604!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was trying to jailbreak my brother's iPhone 3G so I used the 2.0 custom restore file I made in PWNAGE tool, which I've put on other iPhone 3G's, and now I keep getting an error 1604. Must've tried restoring about 20 times now. IM DESPERATE HERE!! I even tried updating to 2.0.1 and got the same error.

Does anyone have ANY suggestions? My brother will kill me if I bricked his iPhone.

My Mac has a serious curse. HEEELLLLP.

So earlier today, my brother snapped when I kind of messed up his iPhone. I tried jailbreaking the iPhone 3G and it just gave me error 1604 constantly on iTunes. After a lot of convincing, he's at the Apple Store right now getting it remedied. Then, my friend gave me his 1st gen iPhone to just unlock. Thought it would be easy, done dozens of em. Error 1604. Error 1604. Error 1604. I have NO idea what to do now. Im scared that it's bricked and Ill owe my buddy a new iPhone. Can ANYONE please offer me ANY advice. I will thank you, I will pay you, I will owe my life to you. Just please help me out.

HAHAHHAHHHHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAH!!!!! yo bro must be PISSSSSEEEEDDDD.....but check the iPhone hacks section for how to unlock/jailbreak

Now it's just stuck on the Apple logo and the only way I can get it out is by putting it in DFU mode and putting the custom 2.0 on it, but ERROR 1604 KEEPS ON COMING!!!!

When you're older, you can look back on this as the moment as the reason you can't have nice things....

So that's it, just horrible childhood memories and fear of harassment is what I'll get? What about a solution? :(:(

best thing is to NOT do any of that unlocking malarky anyway. You should be able to pass it off as a fault with a software update in the apple store as long as someone has a legit iPhone contract to activate your replacement phones in store.

Have you tried all the solutions that you find on Google?

In ten minutes I found over twenty different "solutions" to this one error.

Your iPhone is not bricked.

I dont know whichi "twenty" u mean, but i tried every single method I found and worked for others.
Using PC, using Vista, using different USB port, even tried to restore an original firmware, pwange 2 , pwange 2.0.1, ...., Uninstall & Install everything on PC and try again....
Anything else??

I'm kinda worry cuz it's my friend's iPhone, and I have to give it back to him asap... :(
