Error 23 is my iphone toast?

Having trouble with a 3g it will switch on to show the apple logo then go blank.I can put it in DFU mode but when i go to restore it shows verifying with apple servers then error 23 I've tried it in 2 different computers.Its out of warranty now so i cant take it to apple any ideas or has it gone to iphone heaven?

Error 23 means a hardware failure (the wifi, bluetooth, 3G and EDGE radios have failed).

Hummm so no way of fixing it? after looking inside the iphone i noticed that the ribbon number 4 has white marks on it this is the data port ribbon so i'm wondering if i change this maybe that will solve the problem
