Hi there

As a very non tech savvy person, I was advised that this was the best site to help solve my problem! I have an Apple Airport Express which I run through my PC to play iTunes and use wireless internet. Recently, I installed iTunes 8, and much to my frustration, when I try to play my iTunes through my stereo, an error message comes up saying "Cannot connect to speakers error -3256 has occurred.

So, I googled the error and have worked out how to fix it on a Mac, BUT I have a PC, can someone please tell me how to fix this? Think it's something to do with the firewall and sharing but not sure!

Hope to hear from you soon!

Error -3256 fix

For all the ones who are fed up with it I have a solution that might work (specifically for Mac OS X Leopard):

1. Go to System Preferences. Choose Network, then Advanced…

2. Click on the menu tab TCP/IP.

3. In the drop down list Configure ipv6 choose Off.

Also, make sure that your firewall does not block any incoming connections. If the error persists, turn it off, i.e. activate Allow all incoming connections.
