I have 2 laptops, macbook air and toshiba. I used the os disc to install the software to share the optical drive from toshiba with my mac so I can install windows xp with the help of boot camp. Now comes the problems. This is my first mac, and unfortunately for me it has no drive, and I'm trying to make this work with no luck at all. Let me tell you what I do and please tell me what I do wrong:
1.I put my xp sp2 in toshiba
2.I ask request from my mac to toshiba to let me use the optical drive and I accept
3. It shows me the disc and I double click on it. A window with the files from the disc appears
4. I start boot camp and I click on continue the installation. When I click on start the installation an error with "The installer disc could not be found" appears.

WHAT DO I DO WRONG????

PLEASE, PLEASE HELP ME

PS:please do not tell me to buy the original optical drive for macbook air because I do not have the money. This apple was a gift.

Any USB external optical drive should work. Try borrowing one from a friend.

I think it would be best if you just bought the external superdrive. It will be handy one day!
