i'm a relatively new mac user, i move around in it with no problems, but when it gets technical, i'm lost. i have skitch installed, had the beta version, which expired, but when i download and try to install the latest release i get the following message.

skitch does not have permission to write to the application's directory. Are you running off a disk image? if not, ask your system administrator for help.

i'm lost, totally clueless, can somebody tell me how to change permissions so this will install, it's a much used application. i am just running mac like it was shipped to me, i haven't changed anything in defaults.

thanks so much for any help you can give me. jan

you user may not have write access to the fold where you're trying to install...maybe?

Is your user set up as an administrator?

How did you fix the problem??

I also have this error "Does not have permission to write to the application's directory! Are you running off a disk image? If not, ask your system administrator for help "

when I update the problem.
