I am trying to sync my iphone, and I keep getting the following error:

iTunes could not sync mail accounts to the iphone (iphone name) because an error occured remapping record identifiers.

Anyone know what this error is? i was just going to resotre my iphone, I figured that would be safe considering allmy email accounts are imap and my calendar is backed up to my computer, but I don't know.

Please help- thank you

I'm having the exact same problem, so hopefully giving a nudge to this thread will yield an answer (crosses fingers and starts to wait . . .)

Problem Remapping record identifiers

I had the same problem.

Never figured out why but did solve issue.

In iTunes, click on the Info tab for the device you are syncing.

Under Mail Accounts, I had four different accounts. I unchecked all but my main account. When you hit apply, iTunes will re-sync your account. If you don't get the error, then check another account and repeat the process.

After doing this for all the accounts, the error disappeared.

I can only assume that it may also work if you simply uncheck all the accounts, synch your device and then start adding them. It seems to have something to do with the mail account information being removed from the device and reinstalled.

Hope this helps...

I found a resolution

I thought I'd pass on what worked for me:

Click on the iPhone under DEVICES, select the Info tab, go to the Advanced section and select "Mail Accounts" and click Sync. After I did this the error stopped.

Cheers
Joe
