So I’m going to Australia for the first time next month. My UK provider (O2) says that I have inclusive roaming there which is great.

However if for whatever reason I did want to get a local SIM while over there (I think my roaming data would be heavily throttled for example)… is possible? Any Sydnians on here know where/how to go about it?

Thanks!

I you only want to use data I suggest to use Airalo or Mobimatter. I have really good experience with these apps:

Airalo: https://www.airalo.com/australia-esim

Mobimatter 10GB: https://mobimatter.com/travel-esim/esimgo-usa-plus-10-gb-esim
Mobimatter 20GB: https://mobimatter.com/travel-esim/esimgo-usa-plus-20-gb-esim

If you want to use mobimatter you can use my promo code and get another 5$ off.
Code: ESIM@86869
You will get 5$ off and I will also get 5$ credit just to be transparent. It is a win-win

Even cheaper than AirAlo for data is Three Hong Kong, as long as you don't use tiktok and you don't mind ads to be in cantonese. I'm using them in the US since this year.

20 GB for like $25 (freedom dollars)
