I will follow this up in a few days with a full charge curve on each charger, but thought I'd watch the APP2 charge curve after a bit of a run down (87% remaining on actual buds, and 90% remaining on charge case) on the new APP2s. I used a PD 3.1 compliant GaN brick that supports a wide variety of protocols up to and including 140W PD 3.1.

Charging is a bit of a difficult thing to compare based on battery temps, ambient temps, etc, etc, but I tried to keep it as consistent as possible.

Using wired Lightning (ewwww!) it charged only 0.5W (over AAPL 2.4A protocol).

Using the AW Charger it charged at about 1W consistently (DCP 1.5A protocol)

Using the MagSafe puck it hit 1.7W consistently (over PD3.0 27W protocol).

Thought it was interesting that the wired lightning was the lowest, despite negotiating at a 2.4A vs 1.5A protocol. Lightning is def old, so xfer rates are horrible, but power delivery was surprisingly low. I'll have to see if that holds over time over a longer charge as both wireless protocols will likely have to throttle as they produce more waste heat.

I'll hook the Power-Z up to actual telemetry (logging) with a high sampling rate and publish some charts on the deeper charge in a couple days with all the various types and update this thread if anyone is interested.

Pretty sure I was getting 5W when charging a sub-50% AirPods Pro case. Definitely remember seeing it hitting 2.5W.

I think you may be limited by trickle charging at those %.

Bring them down to <20%, then you should see real charging speeds.
I thought that as well but the other methods didn’t go as low as 0.5W.

But we will see at a deeper discharge what the curve looks like today.
