This is the app that allows you to manage your teams. I have not tried it yet since I can't find it on the app store going from my phone. Will have to wait til I get home and pull through the itunes link.

Yahoo Fantasy Football app is free with ability to make roster changes and live scoring. ESPN $4.99 = FAIL.
 
I cannot recommend buying the ESPN fantasy football app in its current state. I bought it yesterday while I was away from home as I wanted to manage my ESPN-based fantasy football team. I should have paid attention to the reviews.

While I am able to log in just fine, the app is very buggy. I've had numerous crash-to-springboards while checking player stats, and I've encountered numerous ESPN server timeouts. The last timeout occurred while I was trying to show someone the app in my office while connected to wifi.

To add insult to injury, ESPN has banner ads in the application. Banner ads on a $4.99 application! What an insult!

This app is not ready for primetime and it was clearly rushed out to the market to make the start of the season. I've written to Apple and ESPN to ask for a refund. ESPN wrote back to say that they are aware of the server issues, and that I should try again. I did that and still got server timeout messages.

This is a very frustrating app. The Safari web browser works as well, if not better than this app.

FYI - I'm running on a 32GB iPhone 3GS with 15 GB free.

Buyer beware.

P.S. And before someone asks, I'm no iPhone n00b. I own hundreds of iPhone apps and have had an iPhone since the initial launch. This is the first app where I've had consistent operational issues.
 
The server timeouts are frequent with this app as well as with the ESPN ScoreCenter app.
It's a bit ridiculous.
 
I just have to ask - why the outrage over banner ads in the app? I get it's a paid app, but as the platform matures its only natural that you will start to see advertising in paid apps. When you buy a magazine you find ad's in that; its a way for the publisher to make additional money. That said, it would be nice if there were no ads, but its certainly not a negative in my book. Just curious what the thoughts are on this. Thanks.
 
I was really looking forward to this but I don't really want to pay $5 for it... especially with ads. Ads on such a small screen are really annoying.. especially when you accidentally touch one and it closes the app and opens Safari.
 
I read the reviews and I WON'T buy it bc of ads. I don't mind buggy bc I hope they fix it, but I'll boycott it until they remove the ads. Ridiculous for a paid app.
 
Sure, you can do a lot of the things on the app through the website or the ESPN mobile site through the iPhone.

But, the app has worked very well for me so far, and it makes dropping/adding players to your roster or bench the easiest of the 3 options.

It also has FantasyCast updates that keep the score very accurate to game/web time.

The best thing about the app is you can really get into players' next game projections, health status, and news clips through the Player Card feature.

If you got some $$$ riding on a FF league, it's totally worth having instant access to your team.
