iOS Establishing a server for iOS app

Hello!

I have few questions
If the app (game) is no longer supported by developers, but i have .ipa file left
1) Is it possible to establish my own server for this game to be able to play from iPad with others?
How hard it is? Or, how much it can possibly cost to buy a help from freeelancer to code that inside this app?

2) Maybe its easier / cheaper to adapt that game for PC or make it openable with iOS-emulating programs? In this case, how hard it is and how much that can cost?

I know about © and so on, but i`m not gonna make money from that app or something like that, i just wanna keep it secret and be able to play that game with my mates and with everyone interested, despite the fact that officially that game is dead. THink of it like homebrew or similar.

To setup a server for the app you’d have to do some reverse engineering to know how the app communicates with the server. Just having a .ipa file won’t let you know how the app functions. Hiring a freelancer would probably get expensive if you can find Someone to spend the amount of time needed to reverse engineer.

Porting the game to pc might be an easier endevour because you’d be re-writing the whole app but keeping the same game style.

That being said, reverse engineering a program You don’t own is illegal even if you’re not making any money from it.

Maybe some more experienced members can give you more information about this.

I think IBM-PC clone manufacturers would be surprised to learn this, as this was exactly how PC clones came to be.
