Along with new update many of PPL want to raise up their fund
to bought newer Pro by selling there old Pro.

In the other hand Many of PPL want pro but can't spend $2400ish
So bought secondhand Pro is the way to go.

In this threads i want to discuss about estimate cost of old-school
Mac Pro, That properly for both side.

Thanks

For me.
1,1 (4x2.0GHz/1GB/250GB/7300GT) = $690-750
1,1 (4x2.66GHz/1GB/250GB/7300GT) = $720-790
1,1 (4x3.0GHz/1GB/250GB/7300GT) = $790-890

2,1 (8x3.0GHz/1GB/250GB/7300GT) = $1050-$1100

3,1 (4x2.8GHz/2GB/320GB/2600XT) = $1050-$1100
3,1 (8x2.8GHz/2GB/320GB/2600XT) = $1200-$1300
3,1 (8x3.0GHz/2GB/320GB/2600XT) = $1250-$1350
3,1 (8x3.2GHz/2GB/320GB/2600XT) = $1300-$1400

4,1 (4x2.66GHz/3GB/640GB/GT120) = $1200-$1300
4,1 (4x2.93GHz/3GB/640GB/GT120) = $1250-$1350
4,1 (4x3.33GHz/3GB/640GB/GT120) = ?

4,1 (8x2.26GHz/6GB/640GB/GT120) = ?

....

I've been watching the used Pro price on ebay and the base 1,1 price hovers closer to 550-700 so it wouldn't surprise me if it dipped into the 450-600 range.

I'm in the market for a base 4,1 and would like to see them in the $1,000 - $1,200 range.

Very reasonable.

For me base 4,1 will give you great deals. because you can drop 6-core gulftown processor and twice it performance!!!!

You forgot:

1,1 ~> 2,1 (8x2.66GHz/1GB/250GB/7300GT) = $ ?

Then, of course, we gotta consider the value of the ones that are FREAKED! ;)

1,1 ~> 2,1 (8x2.66GHz/16GB/120SSD/240SSDviaVelocityPCI/5770/Lion+MountainLion) = $ ?

Base model 1,1 - 2,1 - 3,1 are gonna come down for sure. As they have been.
Soon as the 6,1 hits, I'm thinking base 2.66 1,1's MIGHT be $500 all day...
MIGHT.... How many people would REALLY be in a hurry to drop it for that ???

The ones that will pop up for dirt and flood the market for a while will be those sold through 'Asset Recovery' outfits 'recycling' old corporate setups and the like.

In real situation Mac Pro is the hardest mac to calculate it value.
Cause Mac Pro is all about expansion.

When you bought 2nd hand Macbook Pro. you just consider the
relative about performance, condition and price but mac pro is the
way complex than that.

Such as in this situation, I assume these machine have same condition
8x2.8 3,1 mac pro with 3GB of Ram
and 4x2.66 4,1 mac pro with 3GB of Ram.

3,1 is better than 4,1 in term of performance off the box
but 4,1 is better in term of expansion.

What system must got higher price?

How much will i get for my
Mac pro(2010) 8, 2.4 GHZ, 16GB RAM, 240GB SDD, 3TB HDD
If i decide to sell it and buy the new one.

Here's what I sold/bought:

2006 mac pro 1.1 2.66 with 12 gigs of ram, ATI 5770, 300gb hard drive:
, wifi and bluetooth:
$825

2009 Mac Pro 4.1 quad 2.66 with 4 gigs of ram, GT120, 750gb hard drive, bluetooth:

$1250

Added wifi card ($50) 16 gb of ram ($150) SSD ($150) and ATI 6870 ($279)

How much would you say my computer is worth?

It is: Mac Pro 1,1. DP 3.0 GHz (4 cores), 8 Gb RAM, X1900XT graphics, Hard drives: 1: 750 Gb, 2: 2Tb, 3: 3 Tb, 4: 250 Gb (For Windows). It has 1 superdrive and no wireless. It may also have a GeForce GT 430 for the windows side if I can get it working.

Monday Will Tell

Ya Know....

Depending on what Apple announces on Monday relating to the new Mac Pros,

There could be a RUSH on the current models driving the prices up....

This would drive the price up on all older configurations....

Have we gone from worry there won't be an upgrade to worry about an upgrade already? :)

With illegally transfered software? Bootleg? That'll help resale :rolleyes:

Last time I spoke with Adobe about my $1800 bundle, it COULD NOT be sold or transfered to another party.

Good luck with that. Hopefully you don't get sued for 3 times the cost of the software eh?:p

I hate Piracy !!!!!!! BUY YOUR SHEEEEEEEEET CHEAP BUSTAAAAAAARDS !!!!!!!

Yeah it's funny on Craigslist too when people sell computers with a laundry list of software worth more than the computer itself. If any of them were acquired legally, I don't see why they'd be selling for such a huge loss hahah.

No Piracy. No bootleg. I'm shocked at your suggestion. I just left it up to the buyer to wipe the drive. No Disks. Have you ever seen a Mac sold with no OS left on it ?

I believe the box got me $500.00....

Selling your machine with installed and authorized limited license software is the same as 'selling the software' as nearly EVERY license I've ever read states 'you may not transfer or distribute' more or less.

;leaving it up to the buyer' doesn't mean you didn't give it to them.

As far as apple goes, yeah, arguably it is of consequence, however I have had Apple tell me in writing that it is ok to sell their machine with their OS on it to another party.... Adobe would not do the same

Sorry .... I get really worked up about this cause I got hammered for some BS because of this very thing - UNKNOWINGLY !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

FOR YOUR PROTECTION AND THEIRS

----------

Stealth....

I'll apologize publicly for the tone.... and any 'suggestion'

My point is this: 99.9% of the software we pay 'for' ... we don't actually 'own'

We merely pay to 'use' it.

Pretty bogus.

For the longest time, I HATED the PACE AntiPiracy iLok system... but after time, I realized that this was a 'decent' method, as it provided an avenue for those providers participating in it to allow us to 'sell' (Transfer license of) 'our' softwares.

First of all, I think it's BULL that we pay for it and don't own it. But it is what it is these days.

So for buyers and sellers, best to be safe.

I don't know why people even sell their machines full of information on it. Even if you erase it, people will be able to access it.

If the new Mac Pro is as good as it should be, I'm going to install a brand new hard drive in my existing Mac Pro, do a clean install on that new hard drive, and keep all the other hard drives for the new Mac Pro.

What kind of price (£) do you guys think I could get for my 3,1? Tower is great condition.

It does have different heatsinks though since I added a second CPU last year.

I have a 580 GTX 3GB installed but might sell that on it's own and sell the Mac with the official 285 GTX 1GB.

2 x 2.8 GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon
20 GB 800 MHz DDR2 FB-DIMM Ram
Hard Drive Bay 1: 350GB Boot/OS Disk @ 7200rpm
Hard Drive Bay 2: 1TB Storage Disk @ 7200rpm
Optical Drive: Apple SuperDrive (-R, -R DL, -RW, +R, +R DL, +RW)
Graphics: Evga GTX 285 1GB or Palit GTX 580 3GB
OSX: 10.7.4
Bluetooth
USB: 5 - 2.0 ports
Firewire: 2 - 400 & 2 - 800

Honestly in the realm of upgrades it can be pretty hard to guesstimate what it's worth. Your best bet is to scroll through the completed listing sections on ebay and try to find machines with upgrades close to yours and add them all up.

Heres a stock 3.0 that went for $800.

And one with upgrades for $1,200.

Here's a question, what do you all think the price of official 4870, 5770, and 5870s will drop to?

I always found this irritating. People try to prop up the asking price by including bootlegs. They're not just using it but trying to ask someone else to pay more based on its inclusion.

Yes... I'm going to transfer several thousand worth of licenses to sell a used computer:rolleyes:. I don't know anyone who has actually purchased such a thing or paid more for it . I wonder if anyone is that stupid. If I was buying a used computer, the first thing I'd do is wipe and zero the drive. As for software, it's useless without a legal license and a backup in case you need to reinstall it later. I mention a backup because if you end up sticking with an older version due to upgrade costs, hardware support, or whatever else, it may no longer be available for download from the developer (thinking of Adobe here). Having your disks can be important.

+$100 on All model!! LoL

Mac Pro will become ancient limited edition mac.
