I have an iPhone 6s+ which I try not to use much. I want to switch to a small screen and use my watch for mostly quick reference. Thinking of upgrading to the 2017 X of lower GB once the new ones come out. What is an estimate what it may cost used and new at end of this year? I dont want a super expensive phone due to using a macbook 12 inch most of the time as i like a real keyboard and software.

I would expect $600 used and $700 new.

We're expecting the 6.1" model to be in this price range, so there will be downward pressure on iPhone X.

The 2018 OLED Plus model is expected to replace iPhone X at the $1,000 slot.

I would expect the 6.1 model to be around 5-600 for the base variant. I would expect the smaller iPhone X to be around 6-700 and the plus model to be around 8-900 for the base models. Since its been a year apple probably has a better Handel on manufacturing and yields so they could do a price cut for this year's models. But this just my guess.

5.8 2018 $899
6.1 $699
6.5 $999

New X discontinued.

Second hand X, $100 less than what it sells for right now. If it’s $900 right now then it will be $750-800.

I think you’re pricing is under priced at least by a $100.00 for each model iPhone. I don’t for-see Apple offering the 6.1 LCD iPhone at $600 starting or the iPhone 6.5 OLED for $900.00. The 6.5 OLED _should_ start at $999.00 for the base model.

Well I may be wrong, but according to Ming-Chi Kuo he said this: "Ming-Chi Kuo believes Apple will release all three new iPhones in September of 2018, with an aggressive pricing strategy. The 6.5-inch OLED device will be priced at $900 to $1,000, the 5.8-inch OLED second-generation iPhone X will be priced at $800 to $900, and the 6.1-inch LCD iPhone will be priced at $600 to $700." https://www.macrumors.com/roundup/2018-iphones/

800 to 900 = 899
Best case scenario 849 but that’s improbable.

And so on.

I still think apple can sell the new 5.8 oled at 800 because if you look right now apple still sells the SE,6s&6s Plus, 7&7 Plus, 8&8 Plus and iPhone X. So right now they have a lot of devices from the entry level to the high end. If they decide to kill some of these models they will need to fill those price points.

Since those older models are competing against midrange android devices at carrier stores. To keep the number of phones up, while making a profit on each device. It is possible apple could charge less, plus its almost a year since the X was announced so by now they are able to manufacture it for less and so they can pass the savings to the consumer.

The cellphone market is saturated, with 2 year contracts gone and carrier financing the new norm, people are not upgrading as fast and some have turned to the used market.

Ya. That’s not happening. I won’t write a long post explaining why. Just take my word, that’s not happening.

You either buy the newer one or you buy a lower model.
