This lag/delay issue really bothers me a lot. It is very noticeable, especially when moving mouse cursor. I think at least 1/10 of a second.

Does anyone know how to solve the lag/delay on second monitor connected via HDMI port?

It happens both on my macbook pro 13" (late 2013 base model) and the new 2016 macbook pro 15" (using a HDMI 4k adapter).

After searching a lot on the internet I couldn't find a satisfactory answer.
First I though the issue was related to my 2011 Samsung 3D Plasma TV, but I recently bought a 2015 4K LED TV from LG, and the LAG/DELAY is exactly the same.

Could the issue be related to poor TV hardware for this purpose? Maybe they don't happen in good computer monitors... Since I don't have one, so I can't test that, and I would appreciate if someone have any clue on this.

A computer screen and a TV isn't thesame. Usually you get abit of lag/delay on a TV. One thing that can help is to put the TV in gaming mode, then the delay will be less.

check and try to get it running 60hz if possible.

30hz is very laggy.

if you use bluetooth mouse it gonna be even more laggy, and will compound the problem.

I didn't know that. I will check my TV settings. tks

Are you running the HDMI through an A/V receiver or some other equipment? That will cause some delay as well.

(I have the macbook directly connected to the TV (Samsung LED TV 60" 7700).

I'm gonna check that. But I think it is already running in 60hz. And I have the LAG even when using macbook's trackpad.

Most TVs use image enhancing algorithms, such as color / contrast corrections, dynamic backlight control etc. that cause a slight delay, which is totally fine for a movie but not for PC output or a Playstation. Of course the manufacturers are aware of this and include an option to switch those extra features off, usually it's called "gaming mode" or so.

LG calls this Game mode and you should find it somewhere around Picture settings.

And of course, 30 FPS frame rate or a BT mouse don't make a difference, that's nonsense.

Make sure that both the adapter and the television support HDMI 2.

30Hz refresh rate, not FPS.
BT mouse is laggy.
Pretty much the same thing. The crystals in a LCD don't need to be refreshed, unlike the phosphor dots in a CRT screen, so both "refresh" rate and "frame" rate are equivalent.

And because the Hertz is a unit of frequency, i.e. "anything per second", saying "frames per second" instead is absolutely correct and even simpler to understand.

And bluetooth mice aren't necessarily laggy. They can be (the cheaper ones), but most of the time the delay is indiscernible.

I FIXED! The problem is the voice sync setup in the TV usually used for bluetoth speaker like soundbars, you need ajust the voice sync, or turn off, and thats it! :)

Switching to game mode did the trick for me. Glad I saw this post. Thanks
