Can't browse the Internet on my MacBook Pro 2017 using the belkin USB-C to Ethernet.

When connected i do get an IP, i can remote to my router, i can even ping site like www.google.com but when i try to browse nothing is working, dropbox won't connect, mail won't sync etc but like i mention ping is working.

If i boot the computer in safe mode, everything is working just fine.

As of WIFI no issues at all it work as expected.

I'm now out of idea to find a fix to this issues. I guess its related to some extension but can't find which one. If someone can help.

Cheers,

Adapter is working fine with other computer and is also working fine with this computer in safe mode so it’s not the adapter.

already check the preferences and nothing to report

Yes i did scan computer for viruses and malware in safe mode and normal mode. It's really annoying. I guess my better option now is to do my backup and wipe the hd

Date and time are correctly set and the Ethernet connection is the first in the list of connections? Did you check the value for the MTU size for your adapter ( for testing purposes set it to 1453)? What IP address is assigned when you connect via Ethernet?

EDIT: turn of WiFi. start your Mac with the LAN cable connected. remove Ethernet from the list of connections and add it again (system preferences -> network).

I have the same issue after upgrading to Big Sur 11.5 from Catalina. Ethernet (via Plugable USB C dock) was working flawlessly prior to the upgrade.

Now, Ethernet drops after a few minutes of working. WiFi however works fine.

This is not a hardware problem. Both 2020 MBPro and Plugable dock are nearly new.
