Hoping someone out there can help.
I have an early 2009 with Yosemite 10.10.5 running. All is well except that my ethernet is not working.
I checked under Network Utility and it says inactive with 0 values on the right column.
I know Apple put out an official how to fix with the sudo update thing but it never worked for me.
I understand there is another thread on this but some of the links to get the proper file no longer exist.
Wondered if anyone could share the pkg update with me or give me a detailed fix??
Thanks in advance.

Just some thoughts:

You could try moving to El Capitan, if that one can run it.

You could try a USB Ethernet adapter/dongle. They come in numerous shapes and sizes, check amazon.
