For the past few months I have been running an ethernet cable to my iPad & iPhone through the USB 3.0 camera adapter, it promted me to update the adapter out of the blue and ever since then it won't detect any internet connection.

Is it still possible to run ethernet through Apple's USB 3.0 camera adapter? I am using a Verizon router, and notice the ethernet settings are blank. When I try to type the IP manually it will never save.

I am also running a second ethernet connection to my Mac, and it does work perfectly. Reset my router and no dice, I am running IOS 10.3.3

Help much appreciated!

I am able to use Apple's USB 2 adapter and another one from Anker (which is also a 3-port USB hub). I'm on iOS 10.2 on iPad Pro. I get much slower speeds from the Anker one even though it's for 1 Gbps speed. Apple's stays at a close 100 Mbps but the Anker one only gets 30 if I'm lucky.

Are you keeping the iOS device charging while you plug in something in the adapter? You should do that in any case. It could be your adapter crapping out too. Try connecting a flash drive with power and ensure the Photos app pops up with the Import tab, or try a USB keyboard.
