EtreCheck's incidental finding - Adobe ARM. Thoughts?

Good morning,

I launched EtreCheck earlier today (to see what it was all about). The only [failed] item is a User Launch Agent:

[failed] com.adobe.ARM.[...].plist

Not sure what to make of this. I thought I had uninstalled Adobe Reader. For the sake of completeness, any suggestions on how to 'tidy this up' ? - or does the hassle outweigh the benefit?

It can happen. If you are sure that there is no Adobe product on your system anymore, then you can delete it. It is located in your user library under the folder LaunchAgents. The only thing this file does is to launch an executable once you log in to your account. As the executable is gone, as you said, this file won't do anything. Just because EtreCheck flags it, doesn't mean that it's a problem. It's harmless, but you can remove it all the same.

You can download a very handy free app called Find Any File. It's a bit like the native Finder on steroids and will locate "hidden" files as well. Type in Adobe and any file with Adobe in the name will show and you can trash from the app window.

Rodan52, Thank you for the suggestion of FAF. Would you know of any application that can dig up files which are remnants from older applications which I uninstalled?
