Etymotic ER6 with iphone

I have bose triports and i am looking for a pair of quality in-ear heaphones, but the first thing im looking for is if they fit into the iphones jack, (i dont want to walk around with a ridiculous big bulky adapter) I tried the bose in-ear they dont fit and i dont like such heavy bass anyways (although im a big bose fan) so my second choice is the Etymotic ER6 White Earphones does anyone have these? do they fit? are there any other headphones that you would suggest?

I currently have the er6's, and yes they do fit.... my only gripe is that I feel the cord is a little long, 5 feet I believe.
That aside, I think they sound amazing.
 
I am assuming you are asking if the plug fits into the iPhone, and not if they fit in your ears. The plug will not fit without modifications. Or you can buy a set from the link below in which the Apple iPhone earbud cable is grafted onto the ER6.

I have been shopping as well for the best sounding in ears that I could find. However I plan on replacing apples buds with the newly purchased buds. At least this was the mic/controls are all in tact and of course it fits where it needs to.
 
Actually, they sort of fit. The make a connection but they do not fully "lock" in place. I did trim just a bit off of the connector and they fit snug with no damage to the headphones.

You'll need the adapter to get a solid fit. Even with the skinny headphone jack it still won't fit in ALL the way into the jack, but enough to hear the sound. The headphones sound awesome with the iPhone.

I'd hurry up and buy that because another seller I bought it from selling the same thing already sold threw 100 something of them.

So does it fit in enough to hear the sound perfectly or not?
 
I have the er6's and I understand what posters mean when they say it doesn't lock into place, even though, they do fit fine and don't fall out. You don't need to push it in to get both channels working. As far as the best bet for the price range I'm not sure because I've seen these range in price from 79-169..... if you can get some for under $110 it is definitely worth it. By the way there is no difference between the er6 and the er6i.

I would say yes, but the cord is about a 1/4 out I would say. This bugged me enough to buy a headphone adapter so I could use my ER-6i's without worrying about if listening to my music would suddently stop. Plus I can use any other pair of headphones I wanted to try.
 
I'm just proud you're making the first step in getting away from that BOSE garbage. :) That company has to make the most awful , overpriced loudspeakers on the market. Though their marketing team is one to be modeled from.

I couldn't agree more. Bose are terrible.
The Etymotic ER6i was the first 'proper' headphone I bought, and they are excellent value for money. You may end up on a slippery slope though, e.g, I'm just about to place an order for the UE11 - at $1150. It started with the ER6i - you have been warned!
 
I am also using, currently using, the ER-6i's, which is what the <a href="http://ultimatebuds.com">UltimateBuds</a> are currently based on. Fors tthose that don't know, UltimateBuds is taking stock ER6i's and combining them with stock Apple iPhone headphones.

An in-depth, real-world usage review is underway with results to come.

Etymotic's are very nice, but the earbuds are certainly not for everyone. Trust me, I am fully aware of the eternal search for audio bliss. My Totem/SimAudio home setup will attest to that :)
