I was able to download the jailbreak and one app from cydia before the latter's servers got slammed.

Seems my phone is semi-tethered at the moment...a reboot causes the phone to get stuck booting up until you connect to the computer and hard reset.

My 5 with 6.1 on it would not reboot after jailbreaking. Hung on the apple logo and would not do anything else. Currently restoring from a backup...

Did you try a hard reset?

when i jailbroke everthing was running fine on cydia but this last half hour servers have been getting hammered

Ok - two ways to solve the reboot bug (without restoring):

1. Hard reset while connected to the computer.

2. Hard reset, then hold the volume up button until the apple brightens.

This works for me now...no need to get to the computer.

Yeah, I tried a hard reset several times. It would always hang at the apple logo. I'm going to hold off a few days and let the dust settle and then I'll try again.

Read my post above....you can reset with the phone connected to the computer, or go into safe mode by holding volume up after a hard reset.

When the phone boots, you'll need to shut down (not reboot, but shut down), and turn the phone back on to get out of safe mode.

Jailbroke my iphone with no problems. ^_^

managed to get BiteSMS, Activator, and SBSettings (after about 20mins of constant refreshing :sadface: ) will probably hold off on other apps/tweaks until tomorrow, or later tonight

Everything has gone fine jailbreak fairly straightforward with no problems. Rebooted untethered and it restarted fine. Trying to connect to Cydia at the moment but still downloading packages, fancy i might be at this a while
