Forgive the possibly ignorant question, but how does the release of the Evasion jailbreak affect the possibility of eventually being able to unlock an iPhone 5S? Might we expect a software unlock like ultrasn0w or another to become available in the near future?

Being able to unlock is the number one reason for jailbreaking for me; otherwise I might not even bother with it.

Evasion and unlocking

Who knows. Seeing as UltraSn0w only works with iPhone 3GS and iPhone 4 running ON a certain baseband, I wouldn't hold my breath.

Is is very, very unlikely there will be any software unlocks in the future.
Unlocking newer iPhones (outside of carrier unlock) is now specifically a violation of law.
It has been 3 years since a new software unlock was released.
