EVDO For Your iPhone?
http://evdoinfo.blogspot.com

Its amazing how many phone calls we've already taken from folks asking us how to get EVDO speeds out of their iPhones. Most of the callers are folks frustrated with the lack of speed on AT&T's EDGE network, and would love for their google maps to take less than 2 or 3 minutes to load on their iPhones.

Do we have a solution for them? Of course we do. Add true High-Speed, BroadBand, 3G EVDO capabilities to their iPhone.

What's that you say? There is no way to add EVDO to an iPhone? Well... technically thats correct. But that doesn't mean you can't get your iPhone to surf at EVDO Rev-A speeds. All you need is a dedicated EVDO device and an EVDO Router like the Kyocera KR1.

Through 3GStore.com you can get a free-after-mail-in-rebate PC card that works with the KR1 from either Sprint or Verizon, on a 2-year contract for service at $59.99/mo.

The KR1/EVDO card combination provides EVDO speeds to anyone within range of its WiFi signal, including users of the iPhone.

For convenience, we ship all our KR1 routers with both AC and DC adapters, so where ever you go with your EVDO and iPhone, you're all set.

The KR1 with proper firmware already installed to support the free PC cards from Sprint/Verizon, sells for $214.99 at 3GStore.com, but customers who buy their KR1 with card and service contracts through 3GStore.com save $35 on the KR1, bringing the price down to just $179.99 plus shipping.

Want to track your vehicle's progress in realtime within Google Earth? Then check out our optional KR1 GPS Add-On module. It even allows your friends/relatives/employer track your progress in realtime, using Google Earth and an internet connection.

Best of all, buying from 3GStore.com assures you are dealing with real EVDO Experts who actually use the service to the fullest, and provide the best possible customer and tech support!

We agree that adding another $60/mo charge isn't going to be for everyone - BUT if you want to get around the AT&T SLOW EDGE - here is a way to get blazing speeds on EVDO.

Some complex web pages have taken up to a minute to load on my iPhone over EDGE, but google maps always load within 15 seconds at best.

I'm a Verizon + AT&T customer. I think it's hilarious that everyone's complaining about Edge data speed. I just loaded http://ps3.ign.com on my iPhone...it took a little over 2 minutes to load the ENTIRE page. If I were to try that on my Windows Mobile EVDO phone....not only would it take longer....but I would most likely get an error about half way down....

It blows my mind how impatient people are...

I just did this on my WM6 EVDO phone and the whole 500+ kb page load took less than a minute, with no errors.

Keep deluding yourself, it's amusing.

Depends on the phone. True my Q on sprint was getting EVDO speeds but some web pages didn't load well on that browser.

I had a Treo 70W (yes, I know...memory issue), XV6700, and my work is an i730...they typically all have problems....or take forever to load. There certainly isn't enough of a boost to warrant the extra money. For downloading attachments...sure EVDO rocks...for browsing forums where most things on the page is text...yep...good to go...other than that...over rated.

Ok, so pay $24.99 more per month for that minute.

Arc;)

I pay $34 a month including taxes for 500 min, unlimited text/picture, nights and weekends starting at 6, unlimited data and nav.

I'd hazard a guess that you're paying more for edge.

I'm just saying...evdo is faster. And this phone also has a memory issue.

Now just don't go calling support too many times on that 6800 with the Sero account or you could lose it.

That's a fantastic plan....what's it going to take to add me to your account on a family line? I've already given an arm and a leg for the iPhone...not much left.:p

I won't argue...EVDO is faster. I have a Verizon USB720 aircard for my laptop. It gets Rev-A in Charlotte...speeds are brilliant...love the card.

Call sprint up and get a sero plan. Anyone can get one.

And no, I don't call customer support, even when they screw up my bill. The mistake is usually small and I'm saving a lot of money so I'll pay the $2 discrepancy, whatever.

And you get great deals on the phones. Special pricing.

If only I was happy with any of their phones and coverage

Gave up my Sero plan which I even had a discount on for the iPhone. Wife is staying with Sprint hoping the 6800 will finally make her happy.

I've been enjoying my 6800. my 755p wasn't terrible, either, but the palm OS sucks bigtime.
