Was curious on the memberships thoughts on EVE-Online. I used to be a Caldari Battleship pilot for a secure space corp. That was 3 years ago. I mostly play WOW now but I have a small interest to reactivate.

Question I have is I have heard from some that its a completely different game and is now "guild styled"? Not sure what they meant.

Curious if its still worth heading out to Jita? :)

Thanks

I don't know what "guild styled" means. I've played since 2008, and other than expansions adding things (e.g. planetary interaction, incursions, etc.) it's the same game. From my perspective anyway.

The character creator is the newest change, allowing for the progression into having actual avatars to interact with other players on stations. That's still a ways off though.

Hope that helps. Basically, if you're curious, come back and check it out. :)

I've been an Eve Online player since the Beta stage. In many ways it's completely new, in others it's the same old game with better graphics. If you choose not to join a player made corp, the tax now is 11% as opposed to player made corps which vary. Other changes include the aforementioned new player design, which still does nothing as you only currently still are depicted via more lifelike portrait. It is static though, does not animately move.

I honestly do not think any major changes in gameplay will be introduced if you are mostly an Empire based (secure space +0.5 to 1.0) player, as opposed to LoSec (0.4 to 0.0) space in the ways that major corporations are running the area. If you enjoyed it, chances are you will not really notice any immediate change other than the improved graphics.

log back in to EVE, its great! (even if I did get my prowler blown up by a sabre in a wormhole today).

Does anyone play eve on a 13 inch macbook air? (was thinking 4gig ram)

This image indicates that one can.. http://images.apple.com/au/macbookair/images/performance_hero20101020.jpg ok apparantly that is just the image in the middle of the screen, try this link.... http://www.apple.com/au/macbookair/performance.html

I mostly play EVE on my desktop, but I did install it on my 13" Air. When I use the Air I am usually doing stuff in a station or traveling to another system. My only concern is the temperature of the computer when I play. When I first installed it the temp would be around 180° F. After I installed smcFanControl the temp came down to 160°-170° F. I don't know what temperature will cause the Air to shutdown, so I have been hesitant to run missions or anything else in EVE.
