I love HDR and hypersaturation, but that's a bit much.

Thanks... for all the comments. I am happy all of you enjoyed them.

It takes a lot of work to make even a junkyard look good!

All images were 3 exposures.. processed in Photomatix Pro, then tweaked with
Topaz Detail....

I like the Wildflower Rover photo.

As for the effects... well...

I guess the way to put it: if you look at a photo and consciously think "effect"... then it's way too much effect.

Boy, you guys need to "get out more often" and look at more HDR... these are actually mild. I don't care for the grunge effect which is what I think you are referring to... :D

Thanks for looking!

The details in the pictures look stunning. Nice HDRs but like others said, toning it down a little bit would preserve the details but make them look more realistic.

Unless you're going for this look. But overall, it's quite a nice look. Not something I stare at for a while though haha

Don't take it personally- I think the photography itself looks nice.

As for HDR- someone said it pretty well once on Flickr, where every other person with a camera eventually tries their hand at HDR photos, with obvious mixed results:

"Good HDR is not immediately apparent HDR, bad HDR is over done tone mapping and excruciatingly and obviously bad."

Yup. ;)

Mild?

When you eat hot wings...is NUCLEAR: mild to you? :D

Overdone HDR always reminds me of:

I did a similar collection when I was in my senior year of high school taking AP 2D. Basically had an assortment of images ranging from toilets, to trash dumps, to run down buildings. Did similar effects-- most people really enjoyed the collection even though it's actual imagery was centered around things that people would not consider art.
