My 2011 imac would never allow me to open the photos app. then my hard drive crashed and I had a 1Tb SSD installed. my imac now works great, what a difference! I decided to open the photos app and it opened and there were 18,000 pics. It took a while but it eventually scanned people.
The problem is that the events that are in albums are empty. All 310 events are there but not the pictures.
