I was just about on my last sentence of a lengthy response when safari crashed on me. When i went back in safari i was on the same reply to thread page, but everything i wrote was gone

Anyone else have any experiences like this? Not necessarily writing something, just in the middle of doing something important or lengthy only to have safari crash and have to do it all over again?

Why Safari crashes and how to fix it?

Yes. I am using Safari (version 2.0.4 build 419.3). I found that quite often, it crashes for no reason. This is embrassing as it happened four times that I showed my friends stuffs using my latest SR MBP. Anybody knows why Safari crashes often and how to fix it?

An occasional reboot will limit the amount of crashes you experience.
That may be a good tip, but it's not a good excuse or long-term solution from Apple. Safari on iPhone is very unstable, it probably crashes on me about once every third page I visit. That said, the desktop Safari was pretty bad at first too, so I have confidence it'll get a lot better with updates...and I'm sure Apple is aware of the problems.

The reboot is a great idea... I just hope they fix it soon 'cause it happens very frequently especially while playing the ipod in the background.

Safari on my iMac rarely crashes and when it does It gives u the option to report the bug to Apple. I am wondering why safari on the iphone doesn't do that.

Exactly, we shouldn't have to do these things to get our iphones to work properly. Like you said, i hope it gets better with updates.

n00basaur, your just a funny one aren't you?

Hmmm - my safari has never crashed and I've had at least 7 pages open at a time. Actually, Safari has never crashed on my computer either.

??? Just what are you guys looking at ??? (besides Porn)

my safari on my iphone does not crash too often, since i got it i would say its only crashed at the most seven times. I mostly notice it crashing while im on this site and myspace. These are pretty much the only websites i go visit while on my iphone so its not really a fair response i suppose. But my safari on my macbook has yet to crash on me, thats a good thing.

Go to howardforums.com and look around. Pretty much can guarantee that both the iPhone and your Mac's Safari will crash at some point and time. Dunno why either.

I call BS on this. It's one thing to be a fanboy, it's another to flat out lie.

I've never had Safari crash on my iPhone either. I have surfed some complex pages too. Although, i dont think i've ever had 7 windows open at once...

I call it an outlier - safari has crashed two or three times (i think) in my computer in the past two years (several computers). iPhone is another thing - at least 5 or 6 crashes in the last two weeks I have had it. Similar no. of crashes for google maps too.

I haven't rebooted the phone yet. I ll give it a try.

it's happened to me more frequently since the update. Still not a huge deal for me though. Usually happens on a page with lots of images. I can go back in and it will load fine. An occasional reboot sounds smart for this or any device.

Safari doesnt crash on me since the 1.01 update. Admitedly I don't have more than two or three windows open at the same time. Since the update its been pretty close to rock stable.

Enough Said!!!

Okay - I hit the "Post Reply" and it brought up the quote above. I was pretty sure I did NOT click quote. So - Closed the browser, came back to this forum/post, and carefully hit "Reply" -- did it again. Yeah, I'm serious.

And on the I-Phone, Safari crashes harder than a pumped up retard with a pair of symbols.

Computers crash.

Software crashes.

It happens.

Just expect it to happen and you won't be so mad.
