Evernote vs Google Keep vs others

Over the last month since moving to Android, I've gotten into both Google Keep and Evernote.

They are wildly different beasts but how do you rate them, and the competition?

Evernote has been a mainstay in my workflow for years. They continually improve it and offer features their customers request.

I use Keep now that my primary Smartphones are Androids. Fast, simple and reliable it's hard to beat the many advantages of the Googlesphere.

Thanks to the rapid pace of upgrades and Google's speed, both my iOS devices and Macs are a true joy to use. Google has enhanced the Apple experience significantly.

I've dipped in and out of Evernote but only now really understood it, and it is superb.

The one major flaw is just simply creating Things To Do lists with Reminders. It's just such a difficult thing to accomplish.

"Reminders" on Apple did it well, and Google Keep as you say has drastically improved.

I have a balanced daily usage of Evernotes and Apple Notes. The latter is more for scratch pad use like sticky notes. Whereas Evernote is my archive for important things that I can access from anywhere.

I tried Keep while I was stuck on an android device for a few months but eventually just used Evernote for both uses until I got another iPhone.

I used to use Evernote, but I moved exclusively to Google Keep after they lost all their customers' passwords.

I was debating across multiple note taking apps too. Eventually I moved to Springpad.

You can't really compare anything to Google Keep since a mini-post it pad of paper and pen has more functionality than Google Keep.

I absolutely loved Google Keep when I used an Android phone. Now that I'm back to iPhone, that's one thing I sorely miss. iOS Notes is terrible, and I haven't found any third party alternative that does it all as simply and beautifully as Keep.

I use both but find Keep just so much quicker for adding notes. Evernote is for serious note takers and has categories and other stuff that you need. For quick notes Keep is great. I also love the location reminders - add in your groceries and when I walk into Tesco up pops the reminder of what to get.

I've been using Evernote for 5 years now. Google Keep doesn't make a good notes system other than for casual to-dos, writing a quick number, etc. It takes a leaf from actual sticky notes, like Todd said, but yeah, you can be much more productive with the actual thing.

That's why I keep a set in my bag. For me, they're useful as footnotes/writing calculations, having them stick out as a bookmark, and for writing a quick note to place on another piece of paper.

And I can still take them all and put them in Evernote.

Springpad is good too, but it's more like a bookmarking service than anything else.

Simplenote for me because it's well... simple. Since I like the look and feel of iOS Notes, Simplenote is pretty close to it and it works on multiple platforms.

I love Google Keep. I just need something simple to keep track of notes, lists, to-do's, etc. Anything that doesn't have a date that I don't save in my calendar app, I save it in Keep.

For example, I have so many gift cards from different stores, I use Keep to organize how much credit I have for each place.

They are pretty much like post its except for you don't lose them easily.
