Every 5 minutes computer restarts

after the 10.11.4 update, my iMac 2015 retina 27" restarts every 5 minutes. I tried resetting the pram and tried different outlets. I have no idea why it keeps on doing this.

Does it boot up with an error message? Run the hardware test. If it comes back negative, reinstall OS X.

No error message. The computer just becomes unresponsive for 5 seconds and restarts. I tried doing a restore using utility and Internet restore. Both became responsive at he same point of the reinstall.
